Robert Ivan Roush, 70, passed away April 30, 2024, at Ft. Meade VA Medical Center.
Bob was born on August 16, 1953, in Culver City, California to John and Vivian (Best) Roush. He joined the US Marines in 1972 during the Vietnam Era and served as a military police officer. After almost three years he was honorable discharged in 1975.
Bob was the proud owner of two businesses in the area, High Tech Satellite and High Stuff Tree Service. He also worked as a bus driver for the Meade County School District and a tour bus driver in Sitka, Alaska and Glacier National Park. In his spare time, he was a deacon at the Assembly of God Church in Sturgis, he was a member of the Sturgis Volunteer Honor Guard at Black Hills National Cemetery, and also a member of the Sturgis Chamber of Commerce for many years. Bob never met a stranger and could find people he knew wherever he may be.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Vivian Roush; his first wife, Katherine Roush; and brother, Daniel Roush.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon Roush; daughters, Joy (Shawn) Gilchrist, and Shennan Goben; grandsons, Aven Cambron and Zane Cambron; sisters, Suzie Wentworth, Judy Aaron, and Brenda (Glenn) Lambrono; stepdaughter, Lora Vela; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at 5 pm, Friday, May 3, 2024, at Crossroads Assembly of God Church in Sturgis. Inurnment will be at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis with military honors conducted by the US Marines and the Sturgis Volunteer Honor Guard.
