Rodney "Rod" Allen Ahner, 50, Rapid City, went to our heavenly father after suffering a massive heart attack, Saturday, August 27, 2016, in Rapid City.

He loved his family more than anything and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Rod loved working in his garage, woodworking, working on cars, his house, camping, boating, and fishing.

He served in the USAF from 1984 until 1994, and then worked for Perdue Woodworks until his death. Rod will be sorely missed by all, especially his wife and family.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Jennifer Ahner, Rapid City; daughters, Shaina (Orin) Voges, Tylar (Sam) Riedel, Morgan Ahner, and Kim Ahner, all of Rapid City, and Kayla Ahner of Lehighton, PA; his parents, Melvin and Jane Ahner, Lehighton, PA; two brothers, Keith and Dennis Ahner, Palmerton, PA; and his SD family, Bill and Mavis Jeffery, Shell and Chad Tomjack, and Pam and Matt Fisher, all of Rapid City; 5 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Nolan Ahner.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2016, at the Valley Community Church in Rapid City. Inurnment will be at Pine Lawn Memorial Park in Rapid City at a later date.

A memorial has been established to help with expenses and his young daughters.
