Rolland Orvin Pearson, 75, Rapid City, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center.

Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 7:00 p.m. and will resume Monday morning one hour prior to the services at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.Funeral services will be held Monday, October 29, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Father Bill Zandri officiating. Burial with military honors provided by TREA will follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery.

Rolland was born February 27, 1932, at Castlewood, SD, to Alvin and Alma (Bunde) Pearson. He grew up in the Hayti and Castlewood area and attended school at Hayti. He served in the US Air Force from 1952 until 1972. Since then, he has lived in Custer, SD, Las Vegas, NV, and Rapid City.He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and TREA.

Survivors include one daughter, Denise (John) Czachorski, Grand Rapids, MI; two grandchildren, Sara and Ryan Czachorski, Grand Rapids, MI; his loving companion and care giver, LoDima Bowman, Rapid City; four brothers, Earl Pearson, Hayti, SD, Omer Pearson, Huron, SD, Jerrold Pearson, Oakville, WA, and Lynn Pearson, Castlewood, SD; four sisters, Arlene Larson, Hayti, SD, Lilace Kastein, Lake Norden, SD, Joyce Amerson, Rapid City, and Audrey Stormo, Watertown, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Lisa Marie; four brothers, Darvin Pearson, Howard Pearson, Roger Pearson, and Arlyn Pearson; and two sisters, Marian Sharp and Nona Sack.

Memorials have been established to Fort Meade Hospice and to the Fort Meade Extended Care Unit.
