Ronald C. "Ronnie" Anders was born May 22, 1929, to Carl & Alice (Edwards) Anders, and was raised in the Marcus, SD, area where he worked on various ranches. On September 21, 1949, he married Wanda Raetz in Sturgis, SD, and began their life together.

In 1952, he got his first truck and started hauling gravel for various contractors. This continued until 1956 when he bought a class B permit and he began hauling grain and livestock for area farmers and ranchers; taking them to a number of local markets. Over the years, as business grew, he added trucks to his operation. His son, Stan, joined the business in 1973 and he continued trucking until he retired in 2014. 2016 saw Anders Trucking celebrate 60 years in business.

Ron, 89, passed away Sunday, June, 24, 2018, at Garden Hills Assisted Living in Spearfish.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda of Spearfish; sister, Jo Strong of Union Center; son, Stan (Chris) of Union Center; daughter, Rhonda (Roy) Sigman of Vale; daughter, Lynn (Ron) Wright of Gillette, WY; son, Steve (Sue) Anders of Sturgis; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Vernon, Bernard, and Marvin; brother-in-law, Floyd Strong; sisters-in-law, Doris Anders and Lucille Anders; one grandson, Travis Anders; and one nephew, Billy Joe Strong.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 27, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Sturgis, SD.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2018, at the Central Meade County Community Center in Union Center with Pastor Harold Delbridge officiating. Burial will follow at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.

A memorial has been established to the Central Meade County Community Center.
