Obituary

Ronald D. Bauer was born July 9, 1938, to Donald Bauer and Maxine (McElhaney) Bauer in Alliance, NE. His family owned a ranch and raised cattle. Ron's grandmother learned the wonderful truths found in God's word, The Bible, and shared them with her family. Ron and his parents were baptized when he was 16 years old.
After high school, Ron served at the Kingdom Farms as a butcher. He eventually returned to Alliance and in 1961, married his love, Asunción. He said he was lost to her smile. During their marriage they had 4 beautiful children and created a wonderful life together. Ron and Asunción eventually found their way to Paradise, CA, where his grandparents and his parents had settled. He was a good son who cared for his mother until the end. He lost his only daughter in 2007 and then his loving wife of 53 years in 2014. Through these difficult times, he held close to his faith and continued to shepherd the flock with love, always looking to the Bible for direction.
In 2018, he came home from Reno after spending time with his son to discover that the Camp Fire had destroyed every physical memory of his life that he cherished. He continued, like so many, to put one foot in front of the other and showed love to everyone as a friend and brother. In the last year of his life he found another smile he could love, someone to hold close to his heart. He married Michelle Balch on July 27, 2019, in Hot Springs, SD. He put a lifetime of love into 4 months and learned to smile again.
Ron loved so many and touched many lives and hearts during his 65 years serving his God, Jehovah.
Ron, cherished husband, loving father, grandfather, and friend, loyal to the end, fell asleep in death on December 5, 2019. That smile will remain with us and we will see him again. Revelation 21:4.
