Ronnie Lee Rust passed away on October 29, 2019, in Sturgis, SD, at the age of 79. Ron was born in Alliance, NE, in 1939.
Ron joined the US Navy in July of 1958. After serving in the Navy, he went to work for AT&T until his retirement. He enjoyed drawing, hunting, working with leather, and spending time with friends and family at the rendezvous.
On February 7, 1966, Ron married Janet Bauman in Huron, SD, and they remained married up until the time of his death.
Ron is survived by his wife, Janet of Nemo; children, Robin Bult, Jeff Rust (Lauri), Colleen Tracy, Rhonda Wood, Donnie Rust (Erica), Ronnie Rust Jr., and Patricia Burns (Kevin); 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Duby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie (Underwood) Rust; father, Henry Rust; brother, Robert Rust; and son, Brian Rust.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2019, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Rhonda Wood to be used for funeral expenses.
