Ruben Lucio Sr., 58, of Spearfish, sadly left us on August 7, 2024.

He was born on November 27, 1965, in Harlingen, Texas to Adan and Maria Lucio. Ruben grew up in Merced, California with his six brothers and two sisters. He worked for the City of Merced while in CA, the Sawmill and Monument Health while living in Spearfish. His passion for the Dallas Cowboys, cooking, and music, oldies but goodies, will forever be remembered. He loved to strike up conversations with anyone he came across if it meant talking about The Cowboys. He enjoyed sharing his love for cooking with all around him. He was the piece that completed our family.

Ruben leaves behind four children: Ashley, Ruben Jr., Alysia, and Steven Lucio; as well as eight grandchildren: Ruben III, Giselle, Elijah, Phillip, Prince, Layla, Damon Jr., and Miguel Jr.

A service will be held in his honor at 10 am, August 28, 2024, at Black Hills Funeral Home, Sturgis, SD. His final resting place will be at Rose Hill Cemetery located in Spearfish, SD.

We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be missed.
