Obituary

Russell Duane Swanson was born to Earl and Eileen Swanson on July 25, 1953 (which happened to be his mother's birthday!), at Deadwood Hospital. He graduated from Sturgis Brown High School. Russell began working as a truck driver locally, then continued his career driving over the road for many years. He was a kind and caring person, with a love for children. Russell also had a love for cars and enjoyed many hours working on them. He was always ready to show his 18-wheeler to his nephews, nieces, and the children of his friends.

In his late 40's Russell met Linda Cochrun, who became his companion and best friend. He came to know and love Linda's two sons, Dean and David, whom Russell loved and grew to accept them and theirs, as his own.

Russell will be forever in our hearts and truly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Eileen, and by Sam, Linda, Carl, Harold, Jeannine, and Cameron.

He is survived by his sister, Sharon (Wayne) Vollmer; nephews, Jeremy and Jamie; nieces, Christina, Heather, and Josie; ten great nephews, four great nieces, one great-great nephew, and one great-great niece. He is also survived by his significant other, Linda Cochrun.
