Ruth Ann Grosfield, 79, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Monument Health Hospice House in Rapid City.

She was born April 7, 1945, to Francis Soucek and Mary Evelyn Soucek in Austin, Minnesota. Ruth had three brothers, James Soucek, Larry Soucek and Richard Soucek and one sister, Betty Stuhr. She graduated from Austin High School in 1963.

Ruth married Larry Grosfield on February 14, 1980, in Colorado. She had three boys, Lynn Downey, Ryan Pinke, and Justin Grosfield and two stepchildren, Mike Grosfield and Koree Hamilton.

Ruth enjoyed sewing curtains for all her family and friends. She decorated wedding cakes with her sister. And she loved thrifting. Many of us are lucky enough to have curtains, or cakes made for our weddings and many thrifty items!! Ruth enjoyed meeting her friends for dinner, dancing and margaritas. She also loved being out at her cabin. It was her favorite place to be.

Ruth loved her family. And her grand kids were her whole world. She loved to help others and always went above and beyond. Ruth has touched so many lives in one way or another with her kind and loving heart with a smile on her face.

Ruth leaves behind her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her great grandchildren, her brothers, nieces, nephews, friends and family.
