Obituary

Ruth Ireta (Moore) Linn, wild rabbit tamer, first place grade-school speech champion and granddaughter rescue/get-away driver has made her journey to eternity. She joins an expectant party in Heaven; including her husband, Clifford, whom she married in 1945 rather than join the WAVES, her son Kent Linn, and her seven siblings, as well as her parents, all of whom she has missed.

Ruth was a hater of fish and a lover of Chinese food. She sang while she worked, whether indoors or out in her garden. Hymns were her favorite music, chocolate her favorite snack and Wheel of Fortune was her guilty pleasure. She was born in Elm Springs on November 4, 1927. As a child, Ruth attended a country school in Hereford and swapped dresses with her four sisters through high school in Sturgis.

After her graduation, Cliff and Ruth spent the first year of their marriage in California, where he was stationed in the Navy. Ruth worked as usher at a movie theater while there. After WWII, She and Cliff built a home and raised a family in Sturgis while active in several civic organizations. They were active in Key City Saddle Club, and horse shows while raising their two children, Kathie and Kent. She worked for twenty years at the Sturgis Chamber of Commerce as an office manager.

Over the years, Ruth acquired a taste for coffee by adding a bit more to her cream each day. This was often her approach with the bitter things in life, best taken in doses with cream and sugar. From a young age, she took her granddaughters to the "café" for pastries. As a champion of the downtrodden, Ruth came to the rescue of those who were in need, whether genetically related or not, all were family. Ruth's love for others was forged in her profound faith in Christ and love for His body.

Her daughter Kathie, granddaughters; Alesha, April, Amber, and Allyson, great-grandchildren; John, Alyse, Andrew, Stephanie, Brian (BJ), Chloe, and Isaac, and great-great grandsons; Urijah and Kelly Ray, as well as several "adopted grandkids" will dearly miss her. However, we can almost hear the clamber of the Moore clan in Heaven as the last of the girls arrives. The last thing she wanted to accomplish in her life was to see people love each other. Please join us in showing our love for her.
