Ruth Ragsdale 89 of Custer passed away July 11, 2005 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Custer. She was born April 19, 1916, in Spearfish, SD to Hugh Jay & Ruth E. (Johnston) Wonder. Ruth was a graduate of Whitewood High School and Black Hills Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse in Nebraska and South Dakota. She worked at hospitals in Broken Bow, NE and Custer, SD and taught Red Cross Baby Care and First Aid classes. She also gave piano lessons for several years. Ruth was a member of the Pringle Methodist Church. Ruth married Paul Ragsdale on January 1, 1938. Her husband, Paul, preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Paula Dee (John) Jones of St. Louis, MO, and Jay Bradley (Dorothy) Montgomery, IL, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Monday, September 12, 2005 at 2:00p.m. at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Custer, SD.
