Ruth was born October 7, 1931, at Washington, IA, to James Leroy and Irma (Walker) Jugenheimer.  She graduated from high school in Washington, IA, and earned a two year teaching certificate at Sioux Falls College.  She married John Carl Schlomer on December 23, 1956, at Glenham, SD.

She taught school for the Smee School District at Wakpala, SD, before becoming a cook at the Silver Grill in Mobridge, SD.

Ruth Louise Schlomer Snyder, 86, Sturgis, SD, died Wednesday, January 24, 2018.

Survivors include her sons, Leroy (Sue) Schlomer, Rapid City, Lloyd (Darlene) Schlomer, Moorhead, MN, Neal (Pam) Schlomer, Ada, MI, and Dean (Linda) Schlomer, Eagle, ID; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband; one son, Kenneth; and her second husband, Dale Snyder.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis.  Burial will be Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at the Glenham Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. central time.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
