Ryan Dhu Ames, age 19, of Spearfish, died Sunday, December 14, 2008, at his father's residence as the result of a house fire.

Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, January 9, 2009, in Spearfish, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Mt. View Baptist Church.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. View Baptist Church in Spearfish with Pastor Matt Branum, North Point Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Ryan was born April 20, 1989, in Spearfish to Susan (Sperl) and Raymond Ames. He grew up and lived in Spearfish his entire life. Ryan graduated from Spearfish High School this last May.

During his short life, he enjoyed spending time with his sister, Lilly, music, watching movies, spending time in the great outdoors, animals, and especially spending time with all of his friends.

Survivors include his father, Ray Ames, his mother, Susan (Sperl) Ames, his sister, Lilly Ames, all of Spearfish, and his half-brother, Jesse Warren of Washington. He is also survived by his grandfather, Bob Sperl; aunts and uncles, Bob Jr. (Penny) Sperl, Rod (Cheryl) Sperl and Peg (Doug) Roggow, all of Gregory, Janet (Brian) Melin, Illinois, Ruthanne (Tom) McGuire,Colorado, and Curt (Diana) Ames of Illinois. Special friends, Pat and Bill Robinson, Troy and Becky Robinson, and Joe and Steph Robinson. He is also survived by many cousins, relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by grandparents, Lyla Sperl and Roderick and Lillian Ames.
