Sharon Rae (Wahlfeldt) Maynard, 61, Sturgis, died at her residence in Sturgis on Sunday, September, 10, 2006.

Sharon was born August 7, 1945, at Myers Maternity Home in Sturgis, to Glen and Lavonne (Symonds) Wahlfeldt. She grew up on the family ranch near Mud Butte and graduated from Newell H.S.

She married Kirk G. Malcolm at Newell in June of 1965. After her family was raised she returned to school and graduated from Western Dakota Vo-Tech in 1981. She was employed at Fort Meade as a secretary for a few years. She also worked at Mom's Drive Inn in Sturgis and the Poker Alice Casino. After retiring she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Sharon loved to dance, gamble and had a great sense of humor.

Survivors include her parents, Glen and Lavonne Wahlfeldt, Newell; one son Lyle (Tonia) Malcolm, Belle Fourche; one daughter Lisa (Travis) Tobin, Grand Junction, CO; grandchildren, Stephanie, Kirk Robert and Kyle Malcolm, all of Belle Fourche and Brooks and Layton Tobin, Grand Junction, CO; two brothers, Wes Wahlfeldt, Belle Fourche, Bill Wahlfeldt, Sturgis; and two sisters, Barbara Wahlfeldt, Newell, and Roxie Huston, Sturgis.

Memorial services will be Thursday September 14, 2006 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Pastor Harold Delbridge officiating.
