Sharon E. Fiscus Schaefer, 62, Osage, WY, died Sunday, December 28, 2008, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with Rev. Denzel Nonhof officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Sharon was born January 25, 1946, in Newcastle, WY, to Glenn and Marietta (Draper) Benbow. She grew up and attended school in Osage. Sharon married Eddie Fiscus on January 25, 1964, in Sundance, WY. To this marriage, two children were born. In 1968, they moved to Kimball, NE, and in 1973, they moved to Brush, CO. They were divorced in 1978 and in 1980, Sharon returned to Osage. She went to work at the Arch Coal Company at Wright, WY. She was injured while working and with a disability, lived at the ranch at Osage.

Sharon married Donald Schaefer on December 30, 1996. He died in 2005.

Sharon loved the outdoors. She especially liked to be out in the pine trees. Sharon also loved her family very much and loved spending time with them.

Survivors include her daughter, Tamara (J. C.) Steele, Douglas, WY; one grandson, John Steele; and one granddaughter, Micaila Fiscus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kevin; her brother, Mike Benbow; her husband, Don Schaefer; and grandmother, Sara Draper.

A memorial has been established for an educational fund for Micaila.
