Sheila M. (Macdonald) Keller was born August 17, 1931, in Lead, SD. Her parents were William K. and Mary (Hancock) Macdonald. Sheila attended Lead High School. On May 20, 1950, she married LaVern Caldwell. Many years later she would marry Edward Keller.
Folks may remember Sheila's smiling face at J.C. Penney's in Deadwood, where she worked for several years. Her helpful nature served many customers.
As with any parent, her family was the center of her world. Sheila enjoyed crafts, music, making the best shortbread for the holidays and sharing coffee with friends. She was very proud of her Scottish heritage. She was able to travel with her siblings to Scotland to visit family. A kind and caring woman, Sheila always thought of others, putting their needs ahead of her own. An amazing woman who touched the hearts of all she met.
Sheila Murray Keller died Thursday, August 3, 2017, in Deadwood, SD.
Sheila is survived by her children; Roxie (Bill) Feterl of Sturgis, Corrine (Dennis) Schumacher of Lead, Lisa (Dan) Rappana of Montrose, SD, and Kirk Caldwell of Lead; step- children; Kim (Dorothy) Keller and Jill (Claude) Schweitzer; grandchildren; Denise (Rick) McGrath and family of Whitewood, Mitch (Stephanie) Feterl of Spearfish, Whitney Rappana of Chicago, IL, Dathan Rappana of Seattle, WA and Wyatt Caldwell of Lead; two step- grandsons; Brandon and Brett Schweitzer and families; and additional great-grandchildren; sister, Beryl Hutchinson, Austin, TX; brothers; Colin (Judy) Macdonald, Topeka, KS, and Roy (Joyce) Macdonald, Surprise, AZ; sister-in-law, Barb Macdonald, St. Onge, SD and brother-in-law, Bill Kinney of Sturgis. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Sheila was preceded in death by her spouse, Edward Keller; parents, brothers, Denny and Bill Macdonald; sister, Moira Jean Kinney and sister-in-law, Glenda Macdonald.
Memorial Mass will be on Thursday, August 17, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lead, SD, with Father Leo Hausmann officiating. An inurnment will be at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
