Sherrill Mae Culbertson Dennis, 72, was born on May 16, 1950, to Robert Andrew Culbertson and Edna Marie (Erickson) Culbertson in Sturgis, South Dakota. She passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at home, of glioblastoma, surrounded by her loved ones.

She graduated in 1969, in Sturgis, South Dakota.

In June of 1970, she married Iren Jay Borup Jr and had three girls: Deon, Carmen, and Nicky. On February 10, 1996, she married Van Dennis and to that union he brought three children: Bridget, Zack, and Shawn.

She was a jack of all trades! Waitress, cook, bartender---you name it!

Mom loved to shop! Her pass up a rummage sale? Never! Walk by that clearance aisle at Walmart without buying something? Nope! But her most favorite thing in the world were her grandchildren. To her, being a grandma was the best thing and they all adored her!

She enjoyed going on the truck with Van from time to time, but if she was home that week her and Tucker's favorite things to do were watching Maury and Steve Wilkos and WWE wrestling--a passion she passed on to some of her grandsons.

She also enjoyed riding the hills with Van and the many friends they hosted during the Black Hills Rally.

She was a great friend to many, and she will be missed terribly! And who could forget that laugh??

She is survived by her husband, Van; her daughters, Deon (Tami), Carmen, and Nicky (Eddie); stepchildren, Bridget, Zack, and Shawn; brother, John (Mary) Culbertson; sisters, Janis Culbertson, Karlene (Dwight) Griffee, and Sharon (Bob) Culbertson; grandchildren, Jacob, Andrew, Luke, Cameron, Dylan, Tristan, Taryn, Nicholas, Christopher, Dani, Gaby, Tyler, Zoey, McKenzie, Jeannie, and Shaedon; along with 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Edna; stepfather, Earl Matz; brother, Bob Culbertson; nephew, Shane Culbertson; her mother and father-in-law, Roy and Dorothy Dennis; and many more dear family and friends that were there to greet her!!!!

We love you and will miss you like crazy, Mom!!!!!!!!!
