Obituary

Sherry Ann (Eggleston) Silvernail, age 63, passed away in her home December 31, 2025.

Sherry was born August 2, 1962, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to James and Marlys (Anderson) Eggleston. She attended high school in Baltic, South Dakota.

At some time, Sherry met Dennis Silvernail and lived in Newell, South Dakota raising sheep. In 1982 they got married and welcomed their first child, Daniel Silvernail. They moved to Deadwood, South Dakota and had a daughter, LeAnn (Silvernail) Clark in 1985. In 1994, Sherry had another son, Casey Kendall. The family loved going camping and spending time together.

In 2002, Sherry lost her daughter, Sara Silvernail as a still birth. In 2003, she lost her eldest son, Daniel.

Sherry worked odd jobs in the area before working at Homestake until they closed. She worked more odd jobs until she moved to Sturgis, South Dakota following the loss of her two children.

Sturgis would become Sherry’s forever home and where she found a career in healthcare. Her daughter, LeAnn joined her in 2021 where they worked side by side take care of patients.

Sherry spent her free time visiting family or fixing cars with her son, Casey and brother, Bryan.

Sherry retired in 2025 and put all of her time into doing things with her family. Her family was everything to her. She spoke with them every day and saw her grandchildren every weekend.

Sherry lived a happy life surrounded by her loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Eggleston and two children, Daniel Silvernail and Sara Silvernail.

Sherry is survived by her mother, Marlys Eggleston of Texas; brothers, Bryan Eggleston of South Dakota and Terry Eggleston of Nebraska; sister, Diana Daniels of South Dakota; Dennis Silvernail of South Dakota; her children, LeAnn (Silvernail) Clark and Casey Kendall; her five grandchildren, Ann Marie Silvernail, Joesive Bright, Myleeah Bright, Zaylen Bright and Mikel Clark as well as many nieces and nephews.
