Sheryl Lynn Burton, 55, Piedmont, died Saturday, May 10, 2014, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.

She was born July 7, 1958, in Hobbs, New Mexico, to James and Madelyn (Farnsworth) Hendrick. She graduated from Hobbs High School in 1976. In the Early 1990's, Sheryl moved to Denver, CO, where she worked for MCI. In 1994, she met Matt Stinchfield while living in Aurora, CO. Sheryl and Matt moved to the Rapid City area in 2005 and in 2011 to their home in Piedmont.

Sheryl was very outgoing. She loved helping others and spending time with her friends and family, cooking, and being outdoors gardening. Above all she was a devoted mother to her son, Tyler.

Sheryl is survived by her son, Tyler Burton, Rapid City; partner, Matt Stinchfield, Piedmont; aunt, Karryl (Greg) Garnett, Brighton, CO; uncle, Glenn (Dorothy) Hendrick, Fredericksburg, TX; and nephew, Jacob Atteberry, Lakewood, CO.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Madelyn Hendrick; brother, Mike Hendrick; sister, Robin Atteberry; and uncle, Larry Farnsworth.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
