Shirley was born February 26, 1936, at Sioux Falls, SD, to Thomas and Viola (Shreve) Daggitt. She graduated from Washington High School. She married Francis Blake on May 12, 1956.
In the summertime, Shirley enjoyed camping, fishing, and especially the weekend camping trips to Orman Dam with family and friends. She also enjoyed snowmobiling and three wheeling with friends and family at their home in Whitewood Hollow.
In her later years, Shirley and Francis enjoyed being snowbirds, working at the Flea Market in Arizona. In the summer, they were camping hosts at West Whitlock and Farm Island near Pierre.
Shirley Ann Blake, 80, Sturgis, died Friday, March 4, 2016, at the Sturgis Regional Senior Care Center.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Francis; son, Steve (Valoree) Blake; grandchildren, Jaime (Jeremiah) McKnight and Josh (Ronelle) Blake; great-grandchildren, Damian, Keenan, McKenzie, Dominic, Davin, Jonah, and Haadyn; two sisters, Janet Sinclair and Jean (Bill) Jensen; brother, Jim (Pati) Daggitt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two infant sons; and brothers, Rich and Bob Daggitt.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at the First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis. Burial will follow at the Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.
A memorial has been established.
