Shirley was born November 8, 1934, to Walter and Doris (Martin) Milberg in Belle Fourche, SD. She grew up and went to school in Newell, SD. She graduated from High School in 1952. She attended Black Hills teacher college for 1 year and then married Kent Robinson and to this union, two daughters were born, Rebecca Anne and Sandra Louise. She then met and married William E. Hollister on June 25, 1961. Their daughter, Jeanne Kay, was born in October of 1962. They lived on the ranch in Harding County where she enjoyed being a rancher's wife and helping with the chores outside.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ, American Legion Auxiliary, Ladies Aide through Church, and Chix from the Stix Club. In 1989, Bill and Shirley moved to Sturgis, SD, and lived there until 2010, when they moved to Spearfish.
Shirley Louise (Milberg) Hollister, 85, of Spearfish, died December 17, 2019, at Spearfish Canyon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandi (Steve) Litschewski and Jeanne (Kevin) Fraiser; sisters, Anne (Gerald) Kirk and Judy (Kurt) Simon; six grandchildren, Jeff, Daphine, Jennifer, Cheyenne, Dustin, and Stephanie; and nine great-grandchildren, Trevor, Kelly, Paxton, Seaira, Tatianna, Aspen, Ethan, Gage and Madison.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Doris Milberg; and spouse, William "Bill" Hollister; and daughter, Rebecca.
Visitation will be 10:00 am to 1:30 pm Thursday, December 26, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.
Funeral Services will be 1:30 pm Thursday, December 26, 2019, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tom Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
