Sidney Aalseth, 76, died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at his residence in Sturgis, SD.

He was born July 16, 1933, in Mitchell, South Dakota, to Marvin and Esther ("Pierce") Aalseth.

Sidney attended Custer High School in Custer, SD graduating in 1951.

Sidney married Charlotte (Fetter) in Hot Springs, SD on May 11, 1963.

He enlisted in the army September 17, 1953 and served until September 16, 1955. After his discharge, he went on to a career in building materials sales.

Sidney and Charlotte Aalseth lived for the last 20 years in Sturgis, SD, and prior to that lived in Rapid City, SD for over 24 years.

Survivors include his son Craig Aalseth, Richland, Washington, and his twin sister Carole Peterson, Denver, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his wife (Charlotte) in 2009, his parents (Marvin and Esther), and his brothers (Robert, Earl, Roy, and Ralph).

Visitation will be March 15th, at 10:00 a.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel with graveside services following at Black Hills National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Denzel Nonhof officiating.
