Edward George Vock II, fondly known by many as Skipper, Skip, Skipski, Skippy, and Dadski, was born on December 21, 1954, to Edward George Vock I and Nancy Vock. He was a special Christmas gift to his sister, Karen. His brother, Frank, joined the family in 1956.  At the time, they resided in a charming home in Seaford, Long Island, NY.

Skip spent his early years in New York until his father's ordination led the family to Pickstown, SD, in February 1968. There, Skip began junior high and later continued his education at Lake Andes Central in Lake Andes, SD. He proudly graduated from Windom Area High School in Windom, MN, in 1973.

Throughout his life, Skip built meaningful, lasting relationships and on December 31, 1985, Skip went on his first date with the love of his life, Michele. From that day forward, they were inseparable, often referring to themselves as being "joined at the hip." They were married on March 27, 1987, and together they built a life filled with love, raising their six children and their beloved dog, Abby. In June 1991, the family moved to Rapid City, SD, a place they cherished and referred to as "G.O.D. Land." Skip would light up with joy whenever the Black Hills came into view, chanting his favorite saying.

Whether hunting, cycling, camping, hiking, meticulously cleaning the family cars, or telling stories, he lived life to the fullest, always putting family at the center of everything he did. He also co-founded the Master Care Carpet Cleaning business with Michele and later together ran Floor Coverings International for 20 years. They worked side by side, supporting each other in both their personal and professional lives.

As retirement approached, Michele encouraged Skip to pursue one of his lifelong dreams: owning a motorcycle. In June 2015, they purchased their cherished Indian Roadmaster in Sturgis, combining Skip's love for motorcycles with his deep affection for spending time with his beloved Michele. Together, they embarked on many adventures, creating memories both near and far.

However, Skip's greatest passion was his unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He frequently shared the Gospel with anyone who would listen, and his love for God was evident in the way he loved his family, his wife, and everyone around him. Skip was a living testament to his faith, and the word that best captures his essence is "love."

Skip is survived by his devoted wife, Michele Vock; his six children: Bianca Noble (Jason), Erica Hanson Vock, Brandi Schimbeno, Kristel Marsh Vock, Brock Schimbeno (Jenifer), and Jared Vock (Kharla); his 11 grandchildren: Dalton, Saije, Brayden, Trevor, Kailey, Nolan, Wyett, Peyton, Joelle, Micah, and Sophia; his sister, Karen Powdrill; his brother, Frank Vock; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by many loved ones who now welcome him into eternal peace.

Services will be held at 3pm on Monday, October 7, 2024, at Nemo Community Church in Nemo, South Dakota. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A private family burial will take place at Nemo Cemetery.
