IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stanley Charles
Radle
May 28, 1956 – May 19, 2015
Stanley C. Radle was born to Richard and Delores Radle on May 28, 1956, in Germany while his father, Richard, was serving in the Air Force.
During the time Richard served in the Air Force, Stan's family was stationed in Germany, Turkey, and Spain, and had the opportunity to travel to Greece, Italy, France, Austria, and Switzerland. When Stan was around the age of 15 his father retired and his family moved to Duluth, MN. He graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1975.
After high school, Stan moved to Williston, ND, and worked for International Harvester selling truck parts. He then met Sharon Dahl at a picnic on a warm sunny day. As the romance began, Stan and Sharon packed up and moved to Vancouver, WA. On December 17, 1982, they were married with Sharon's daughter, Jacqueline, and son, Travis, present.
While working evenings in Portland, OR, Stan had the opportunity to attend college during the day and received an Associate's Degree in Telecommunications from Clark Community College in 1993.
In 1994, Stan and Sharon moved back to Williston, ND, and lived on Sharon's family homestead. While living in Williston, Stan was diagnosed with colon cancer in 1999. His battle with cancer lasted 2 years at which time he was "cancer free."
Stan started working for Verizon in 1995 and was transferred to Deadwood in 2001. Stan was an avid outdoorsman. While living in Washington, he loved to go to the lake as often as he could to water ski. He also thoroughly enjoyed all types of hunting and fishing. Every fall, the horses were loaded in the trailers along with camping gear, and the elk trips began. Stan and Sharon would pack in on their horses, being gone for several weeks camping in inclement weather with sometimes lots of snow. The prize always being an elk.
He loved his dogs, all Labradors, Buddy, Bo, Buford, and last but not least, Baily. Bird hunting was always at the top of his hunting list. Being the outgoing person he was, strangers were all his friends. Sharon never knew who was coming to dinner!!
He loved his log home in Deadwood, SD, and it was difficult at times to get him to leave to visit friends. He enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the wildlife (deer, turkeys, birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and coyotes). It was his dream life.
Stan also longed to moose hunt in the Yukon. In October 2014, Stan bought all his extreme cold hunting gear at his favorite store, "Cabela's," and off for 1 week to the Yukon he went. He was also able to "bag" a gigantic bull moose. Check, a dream fulfilled.
On May 19, 2015, Stan passed away at his home after his battle with lung cancer. Sharon never left his side. He was exactly where he wanted to be.
In addition to his wife, Sharon, Stan is survived by his step-daughter, Jacqueline (Daryl) Lager, and step-son, Travis (Tina) Wickum, all from Williston, ND; grandchildren, Jessica (Seth) Dixon (a great grandbaby due in October 2015, YEAH), Cassidy Lager, Caitlin Lager, Tate Wickum, and Turner Wickum; four sisters, Maris (Hermann) Zielhke, Neiderhausen, Germany, Cathy (Paul) Rogers, Burnsville, MN, Janice Canerdy, Williston, ND, and Tess Steir, Lakeville, MN; two brothers, Ron (Lauri) Radle, Aurora, MN, and Mark (Marina) Radle, Lakeville, MN; along with seventeen nieces and nephews.
Stan was preceded in death by his father, Richard; mother, Dolores; and father-in-law, Roger Dahl.
