Stanley Lloyd Teller was born on November 22, 1928, in Dupree, SD, to Lloyd and Bernice (Vansickle) Teller. He attended school in Red Elm, SD,
until the 8th grade, when he went to work at the family ranch with his dad in Dupree, SD, until 1944. In 1944, he started his truck driving career for Clark Starr Trucking out of Colony, KS. In October 1950, he joined the United States Army and was stationed at Camp Carson, CO, until 1951, when he was sent to Korea to fight in the Korean War until 1952. He returned to Camp Carson, CO, where he was given an Honorable Discharge in October, 1953.
He met his wife, Lorraine (Kienzle) Teller, in January of 1953. They later married on July 19, 1953. After being discharged from the Army they
moved to Faith, SD. On June 30, 1954, they had their first of two daughters, Linda. From 1954 to 1959, he drove truck for Mauer's Construction of
Sioux City, IA. On August 29, 1960, they welcomed their second daughter, Della. From 1960 to 1963, he worked for the City of Sturgis as a part time Police Officer and at the Gambles store. In 1963, he returned to the trucking industry where it led him to Gillette, WY. In 1979, he drove a Hot Oiler for Kissack Water and Oil until May of 1986. In July of 1983, they welcomed their first of three granddaughters, Kristie. In October of 1984, they welcomed their second granddaughter, Stacy. In May of 1986, they moved to Piedmont, SD, where they have resided until his passing. In April of 1989, they welcomed their third granddaughter, Holly.
Stanley is proceeded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Bernice Teller; grandparents; brother-in-laws, Phil Kissack Sr. and Marvin Frankfurth; and
niece, Jody Teller.
Stanley, 83, of Black Hawk, SD, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012, at Fort Meade VA Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Black Hawk; daughters, Linda (Gene) Robinson of Gillette and Della Donahoo of Black Hawk; granddaughters, Kristie (Craig) Mitchell and Stacy Scheck both of Gillette, and Holly Donahoo of Rapid City; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenny (Donna) Teller of Faith, SD, and Jerry (KJ) Teller of Hermosa, SD; sisters, Marcella Kissack of Belle Fourche, SD, Doris Frankfurth of Faith, SD, and Gloria (Jim) English of AZ. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
