Stella B. Graham, 95, of Custer, passed away July 1, 2018, at Spearfish Regional Hospital.

Stella was born August 29, 1922, in Toronto, SD, where she attended grade school and high school. She graduated from General Beadle College (now Dakota State).  She taught school for several years.

She married her husband, Gavin, in September 1943, in Lincoln, NE. Stella had a direct contribution to the World War II effort by working in a war plant while in Lincoln.  In 1953, Gavin and Stella moved to Custer, SD, and she has lived there since.  Her life achievements were many including, homemaker, teacher, and cashier at the Custer County Bank.

Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Gavin; parents, two sisters, three brothers, and two infant children.

She is survived by one brother, Curt (Betty) Lenader, Yuma, AZ; sons, Richard Graham and Warren (Bambi) Graham, Custer, SD; daughter, Lois (Tedd) Schwab, Tucson, AZ; eight grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Custer with Pastor Eric Obermann officiating. There will be a luncheon following the service. Burial will be at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
