Stella Evans Hilburn, 93, Sturgis, SD, died Thursday, July 20, 2006, at the Sturgis Regional Senior Care.

Stella was born June 12, 1913, at Allentown, TX. She graduated from High School in San Diego, CA and returned to Texas where she worked as an executive secretary for a large oil company in Houston.

She married Allen Hilburn in Texas on September 29, 1948. The couple moved to Rapid City, SD, in 1958. Stella worked as an Avon representative for several years. In 1972, they moved to Sturgis where they have lived all but a few years when they resided in New Mexico.

Stella was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Sturgis.

Survivors include one son, Allen Hilburn, Allen, TX; two daughters, Evalyn Moore, Richmond, TX, Bonnie Rose Nicholson, Enid, OK; three granddaughters, Stella Hilburn, Dana Hilburn, Hope Bradberry; three great-granddaughters, Tara Arnold, Catherine Baker, Kendra Baker; and one great-grandson, John Hunter.

Burial at the Bear Butte Cemetery, Sturgis.
