Stephanie Sue Payne was born to Steve and Susie Payne on January 17, 1974. She grew up in Eagle Butte, SD, where she formed many lasting friendships. As an adult she moved to Sturgis, SD, where she raised her four children, Crystina, Stevy, Ridge, and Mason.
Stephanie enjoyed life. She enjoyed the outdoors. She always wanted to be in the sun, visiting Mexico and Hawaii multiple times. She was a motorcycle lover, and was so proud of having her motorcycle license. If you knew Steph, she did everything to the fullest extent, and with passion. She worked at the State Bank of Eagle Butte alongside 2 siblings and her father.
She was great at organizing events and enjoyed giving to others. Her free time often included helping with events as significant as Eagle Butte's Celebration, "Hometown Days", and as intimate as niece's and nephew's birthdays. Steph loved and cherished every relationship she had with family and friends.
She left behind many that she held dear to her heart, including her grandson, Coleson Mack; her four kids, Crystina, Stevy, Ridge, and Mason; her adopted daughter, Kelli Louise and her children, Carter and Payton; her parents, Steve and Susie Payne; her siblings, Tammy and Glenn Gunville, and Russ and Amber Payne; and nieces and nephews, Glennee, Tia, Anders, Maxtyn, Brittany, Brooke, Camryn, and Reese.
There will be an all-night visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27, at Believers Fellowship in Sturgis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2020, also at Believers Fellowship, with Pastor Jodee Oliver officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Eagle Butte Cemetery in Eagle Butte, SD.
