Stephen Leroy Brown, 77, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital.

He was born October 15, 1948 in Iowa City, Iowa. On December 31, 1986, he married the love of his life, Sheila Brandt in Deadwood, South Dakota. Stephen was a loved family man who was a skilled carpenter and enjoyed racing remote control cars and boats with his sons and friends.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents Willard and Helen (Rickman) Brown along with his infant son Paul Brown.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Sheila, and his children Chris (Michelle) Groves, Shawn (Amy) Brown, Joshua (Terri) Brown along with his grandchildren; Paxton (Raegan) Groves, Gabrielle (Kevin) Osterson, Elliott Groves, Danielle (Logan) Mack, Maxwell Brown, Zachary Brown, James Brown, Mya Brown and Alexis Brown

Stephen's family will hold a pot luck and celebration of his life on October 25, 2026, 1:00-4:00 pm at the Meade County Senior Center in Sturgis.
