Stephen Darwin Buchan, 64, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at his home in Rapid City.

He was born in Flint, Michigan on August 10, 1956 to David and Margaret (Taylor) Buchan.  He grew up and attended school in Michigan.

Stephen joined the United States Marines in 1975 and later joined the United States Navy. In total he proudly served his country for over 14 years.

He is survived by his sister, Cathy Chartier of Midland, Michigan; and close friends, Melvin Herron and Carla K. Sullivan.

Stephen, thank you for your service to our country, the many cups of coffee, for always being there, and for being such a great friend.  You will always be in our hearts; you may be gone but you will never be forgotten.

Cremation has taken place and he will be interred at Black Hills National Cemetery with military honors provided by the Sturgis Volunteer Honor Guard and the United States Navy.
