Steven "Steve" Guy Fowler, 71, of Newcastle, Wyoming, passed away at Ft. Meade VA, South Dakota on May 25 ,2023.
Steve was born in Bozeman, Montana on June 11 ,1951, to Leona (Thompson) and Theodore Fowler. He had two older sibling, Merle and Charles Good and, later on, his brothers, Bruce, David and James (Jimmy) Fowler joined the family.
Steve grew up between Baltimore, MD, Fort Walton Beach, FL, and Newcastle, WY.
Steve joined the Army in 1970 and was honorably discharged in 1995 (he took a break between re-enlisting). He was station in Ft. Belvore, VA, Ft. Carson, CO, and he served in Italy, Germany, South Korea, and the United States.
Steve met Debra (Debbie) Jacoby in Vicenza, Italy while both were serving in the U.S. Army. They were married in 1975 and to this union three children were born, Stevie, Michael and Athena. They lived in Colorado, Virginia, and Wyoming. Steve and Debbie divorced in 1995.
When Steve retired from the Army, he drove truck across the United States for 15 years. He loved to take his kids over the road and show them the country. Steve taught them to drive a semi, how to use maps and landmarks, and the best truck stops to eat, listen to music and play video games. When he retired from driving truck, he resided in Newcastle, Wyoming. Steve enjoyed his coffee and a good smoke, eating out at the local diners, fishing, general outdoors, loved road trips (while listening to classic rock) and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Steve is proceeded in death by his parents, Leona and Theodore Fowler and all five brothers.
He is survived by his children, Stevie Fowler, Colorado Springs, CO, Michael Fowler (Jessie Bainer) Newcastle Wy, Athena Fowler, Crestview FL; a second daughter to him, Sabrina Gutierrez, Loveland, CO; his grandchildren, Isaiah Fowler, Gabriel Gutierrez, Jonathan Bainer, Micah Fowler and Leland Fowler.
Steve's kind heart, few words and genuine smile will be deeply missed. He cared deeply for others and would do anything for those he loved.
He will be greatly missed and those of us that knew him will keep his memory alive with all the great moments we were blessed to have shared with him.
