Steven W. Pond 60 of Sturgis, formerly of Gillette, WY passed away Saturday, October 22, 2005 at Fort Meade LTC. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, October 27, 2005 at Black Hills Funeral Home & Cremation Services at Sturgis. Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm Friday, October 28, 2005 at the funeral home. Interment to follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis; with full military honors by the Sturgis Veterans Honor Guard. Steve came to Gillette, WY in 1979, and worked for Jacobs Ranch as a coal miner for 10 years. He was very proud of his 13 years with the USA Navy, during Vietnam. He was an active member of the Jericho Baptist Church in Gillette. Serving as deacon, and drove the childrens bus for years. Hobbies include fishing, Ham Radio, and working on cars. Steve was married for 30 years to Eileen until her passing in 2003. On Feb 2, 2004 he married his current wife Wanda at Gillette, WY. Survivors include wife Wanda, father Leonard Pond, step-son Michael Condo, step-daughters Sandra Vasquez, Karen Condo, brothers Mike Howard, David Pond, sisters Leona Collins, Phyllis Baker, Judy Austin, Linda Arizoclan, Georgena Gamble, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
