Susan was born on March 4, 1955, in Breckenridge, MN. The family moved to Sioux Falls, SD, when she was four. Susan graduated from the Sioux Falls Lincoln High School in 1974. She then enrolled in the LPN program at the Southeast Area Tech School and obtained her LPN degree in 1974. Susan worked for several health care centers in the Sioux Falls and Black Hills areas. She obtained her RN degree from Dakota Wesleyan University in 1984. She married the love of her life, Dale Grambihler, in 1979.
Susan will be fondly remembered for her sense of humor, and her calmness and resiliency in the face of heartbreak and tragedy. May she be an inspiration to all of us who knew and loved her.
Susan Marie Grambihler, 64, died January 11, 2020, at Rapid City Regional Hospital after a short battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Dale of Sturgis, SD; brothers, Robert (Margo) Spears of Watertown, SD, Timothy Spears of Riverton, WY, Thomas (Liezel) Spears of Dipolog, Philippines, and John (Shannon) Broadbent of Spring Hill, TN; nephew, Connor Spears of Watertown, SD; niece, Hannah Spears of Sioux Falls, SD; and aunt, Jeanne Morgan of Fargo, ND.
Susan was preceded in death by both her parents, Darell and Kathleen; stepfather, Lloyd Travis; and three uncles.
A celebration of life will be 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Kickstands Campground, 13014 Pleasant Valley Road, near Sturgis.
