Teresa Anne (Harder) Shuck, age 65, of Spearfish, SD, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD, surrounded by her family.
She was born April 27, 1955, in Salina, KS, to Donald "Jack" and Barbara "Jean" (Johnston) Harder. Teresa graduated from high school in Spearfish, SD. She went to work for Dorsett Home as a CNA when she met her first and only true love. Teresa married Leon Otis Shuck on September 11, 1979, in Chamberlain, SD. Their first child, Cody Curtis, was born September 8, 1980 . . . three days shy of their one-year anniversary. Otis Noel followed on August 19, 1985, and Kayla Marie on December 11, 1988, to complete their family.
Teresa was a dedicated wife and mother, taking pride in her husband and each of her children. She would talk about them to anyone who would lend a listening ear. Teresa worked as a mail route contractor for a number of years. Simultaneously, she worked on the Shuck Ranch maintaining the dairy business. She was known to wag her finger or shake her fists, causing people to either chuckle or run. Teresa enjoyed every moment spent with her little family, whether it was work or vacation. Each of her children inherited her stubborn mind, dedicated personality, and ability to love without question.
She is survived by her children, Cody (Amber) Shuck of Aladdin, WY, Otis Shuck of Rapid City, SD, and Kayla (Markus) Raines of Kansas City, MO; along with her siblings, Phyllis Harder of Spearfish, SD, Judy Harder (Remington) of Spearfish, SD, Dale (Kathy) Harder of Whitewood, SD, and Debra (Don) Dillon of Rapid City, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
Teresa was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; parents, Donald "Jack" and Barbara "Jean" Harder; and two brothers, Steven and Thomas Harder.
Due to health considerations regarding the current pandemic, the family will be holding a private memorial service on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.
