Terry Rodiack, 70, of Deadwood, SD, died Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Monument Health Deadwood.

Terry Jean Rodiack was born July 22, 1952, in Oroville, CA. She is the daughter of Robert and Jeanette Vonasek.

As a child she had many wonderful memories of times on her grandparent's farm in Orland, CA. Especially outside playing hide and seek in the orchard with her many cousins, playing in the barn, swinging on the willow tree, and helping her grandmother cook. She also enjoyed her grandparents' home in the mountains in Woodleaf, CA. She attended El Camino High School in South San Francisco, CA, where she would meet her best friend and future husband John Rodiack.  After graduating high school in 1971 Terry went to work for Bank of America and would later move to Humbolt County where John attended college.

Terry and John were married September 8, 1973. Life brought Terry and John to Rock Springs, WY, where Terry initially worked for Safeway and had two children, Charles and August and eventually two granddaughters, Jade and Caradee. She was a dedicated and loving Mother and Grandmother. Her natural ability for kind, compassionate and genuine caregiving not only benefited her own family and friends but also extended to the many children that she helped during her career at the Sweetwater Youth Crisis Center.

Terry and John would move to Deadwood, SD, after retirement. Terry loved spending time with her family and held a special place in her heart for her beloved pets. She enjoyed traveling, being in nature, camping, fishing and exploring especially at Whitewood creek, the ocean, Yellowstone and Thermopolis. Terry had a wonderful green thumb that you could see in her gardens and flowers. Terry had a very creative side that she expressed in crocheting blankets for her loved ones, decorating elaborate birthday cakes and various sewing projects. She was also an excellent cook and enjoyed making meals for family and friends. Terry was known for her quiet calmness and kind, caring nature. She was liked by all who met her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Charles Rodiack whom she was married to for 49 years and her parents, Robert and Jeanette Vonasek.

She is survived by her son, Charles Edward Rodiack of Deadwood, SD, along with her daughter, August Nichol Rodiack; her sister, Tranette Gail Maddox of Oroville, CA; granddaughters, Jade Marie Rodiack of Lead, SD, and Caradee Nicole Rodiack of Missouri and many nieces and nephews.

An interment of ashes and a celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. on June 3, 2023, in Deadwood South Dakota at the Rodiack Family cemetery. All are welcome.
