Theoda Marie Burleson was born February 21, 1955 to Ted and Donna Elliott, in Newcastle. She lived and grew up with her parents, and sister Pam, on the family ranch west of Newcastle. She attended the Fairview country school until 7th grade. Then continuing school and graduating from Newcastle High School in 1973.

She met and married the love of her life, and best friend, Mike Burleson in 1974. Together, they enjoyed 42 years of happiness, love and friendship. They lived in Gillette before moving to the family ranch. Then they found some beautiful land north of Newcastle, and built a home together, where they lived until moving to Newcastle in 1985. Together they had three children, Dawnyell, "Little" Mike and Nakala.

Theoda, above all, enjoyed being with her family. She was an amazing daughter, wife and mother. Her greatest joy in life was to love and be loved. She loved endlessly, and always saw the best in people. Her beautiful laughter was infectious, and brought joy to all those who were lucky enough to hear it.

Theoda loved being outdoors. On a nice day, she and Mike could often be found in the Black Hills enjoying a picnic and RZR ride, or enjoying time at their cabin. They were always together, and loved life together. Family was very important to her, and her grandson was so special to her.

Some of her childhood friends could not remember how to say "Theoda", so they nicknamed her Thud. That name carried on with her many friends and family to this day. Theoda is survived by her husband Mike Burleson, daughter Dawnyell Nagle (Kody Nagle), grandson Ezra Anderson, mother Donna Elliott, sister Pam Oleson, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Ted and Virgie Elliott, Pete and Hazel Morgan, her father Ted M. Elliott and two children "Little" Mike and Nakala.

She will be greatly missed, but always loved.
