Ted "Frog" Krogen passed away on June 17, 2023, in Spearfish, SD, 2 weeks after being diagnosed with liver cancer. His wife and children were by his side.

Ted was born September 7, 1946, in Williston, ND, to Melvin and Ruth (McDaniel) Krogen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He married Marilyn Kjorstad on February 1,1969, in Williston, ND.

He was drafted into the Army on August 1967 and served in Vietnam with the First Air Cavalry as a forward observer. He received many medals including the Bronze Star with "V" for Valor. He was a member of many Veteran's associations: VFW, Cooties, American Legion Post #408, and the DAV. He was a charter member of the Williston DAV and was a quarter master of the Williston VFW for over 25 years. He was also a state commander for North Dakota VFW and Cooties. He also served on the National VFW counsel for 2 years. He was also in the American Legion Color Guard and the Vietnam Color Guard in Williston.

Ted loved to drive his Corvette, his Model T's, his Harley, and his ATV's. He had a large collection of belt buckles, patriotic mugs, Norwegian mugs, and Frog memorabilia. He also loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandkids and many friends and he loved lutefisk!!

Ted is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marilyn; his daughters, Kristy (Rob) Roles, Guri Krogen; grandchildren, Katie (Hunter) Roles, and Matt Roles; sisters, Agnes (John) Corvella, Suzanne (Ron) Homiston, Yvonne (Bob) Topp; brothers, Melvin (Sandy) Krogen, Leif (Chris) Krogen; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Ruth Krogen, grandparents, in-laws John and Evelyn Kjorstad, brother in-laws, Dale Kjorstad, Paul Bennett, and Bill Crovella, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with an interment to follow with military honors at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
