Tom was born April 11, 1957, in Minot, ND, entering into this world as the first son of Francis Jerome and Colleen Margret (Roberts) Schultz. Tom was raised in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1975.
After high school Tom attended college for a period of time before he decided to pursue his musical desires. Tom played with many different bands, including Summerville Creek, State of the Harp, Steel and Reed Show, and numerous others. His musical endeavors took him to many different states, but he finally settled down in Rapid City, SD. There he worked in the plumbing and heating industry until his retirement in 2019.
Tom was once married to Lori Zens, from whom he gained two wonderful stepsons, Aaron and Ryan Zens. Tom and Lori remained best of friends till the end.
Thomas "Tom" Jerome Schultz, 62, of Rapid City, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020, at a Rapid City hospice house.
Tom is survived by his father, Jerry Schultz; brother, Jim (Jane) Schultz; sisters, Cathy Tweten, and Lisa (Steve) Kukowski; sons, Aaron (JoAna) Zens, and Ryan Zens; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; 6 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his son, Daniel; his mother, Colleen; his brother, Dave; and his uncle, John.
Memorial service will be 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2020, at the Eagle's Club in Rapid City.
