Thomas Joel Kushman was born January 29,1954 in Aberdeen, SD to Calvin Wayne Kushman and Opal Mildred Kushman (Patten). After a prolonged illness with Goodpasture Syndrome he passed away in his home on June 8, 2023.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Kushman of Summerset, SD; and three sons, Joshua David Kushman of Seattle, Washington, John Calvin Kushman and James Richard Kushman both of Bozeman, Montana.

Tom is also survived by two siblings and many nieces and nephews by Susan Glassing Kushman and Dixie Kushman both of Fort Collins, Colorado.

Throughout his working career Tom worked as an administrator for several companies in several different cities. But that was just his "work". What Tom was best known for was his most important vocation…that of imparting to others his vast knowledge and love of God. He was a "question" asker, which led many people to the final answer. Jesus.

Tom's funeral will be held at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Shilo Free Lutheran Church located at 11700 JB Rd in Black Hawk, SD. A memorial fund has been established in his name for the Shilo Church building fund.
