STURGIS, S.D. - Thomas F. Milan Jr., 55, formerly of Galesburg, Ill., passed away Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Sturgis Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Galesburg, Ill., on Dec. 7, 1957. Tom was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bernard Milan, Maxine (Mrs. Ray) Hopping, Dale and Mildred Cebert. He is survived by his mother, Deana M. (and stepfather Robert J.) Hartzell of Gerlaw, Ill.; father, Thomas F. Milan Sr. of Galesburg, Ill.; sister, Becky C. Milan of Springfield, Ill.; stepsisters, Rhonda (and Dave) Lybarger, Terri Frederickson, and Tina (and Tyler) Young; stepbrothers, David (and Debbie) Hartzell and Tony (and Kelly) Hartzell; domestic partner, Angela Christenson; and several beloved aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tom attended St. Joseph Elementary and Immaculate Heart of Mary School. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1976. He resided in Sturgis, for the past 31 years, and attended Mass at St. Francis of Assisi. He was employed at Hurst Acoustical.
A celebration of life will be from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1, at The Kensington (Kellogg Street entrance). Family and friends are welcome to attend.
