Thomas was born September 24, 1939, to Ray and Ruth (Watters) Smith in Deadwood, SD. Thomas graduated from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. with a bachelor's degree in Accounting, in which he did most of his life.

Thomas Patrick Smith, 79, of Sturgis, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Sturgis Regional Hospital.

Survivors are cousins, Gary and Vickie Weins of Sturgis, SD.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Ruth Smith; and a brother, Bob Smith.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis with Father Timothy Castor officiating. Interment will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery.
