Thomas was born on December 4, 1944, in Deadwood, S. D. to Wayne and Louise Reed. Wayne passed away in 1945. Louise married Keith McKay in 1952 and Keith became the best dad a boy could ever have. Tom graduated from Sturgis High school and USD, Vermillion. He retired from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Rail Road in 2008. He was an avid football fan, especially for the Wyoming Cowboys.

Thomas Duane Reed, 73, Wheatland, Wyoming, passed away in Cheyenne, Wyoming on July 17, 2018, following open heart surgery.

Tom is survived by his cherished wife of 31 years, Betty; her children, Mike (Cindi) Norris, Washington, Randy (Kelley) Norris, Colorado, and Mary Ann (Matt) Butler, Washington; his loving "dad" Keith McKay: brother, Brian (Candy) McKay, and aunt, Bernice Murphey, all of South Dakota; brother, Scott (Liz) McKay, Colorado. He also survived by a large extended family and numerous friends.

A celebration of life and reception will be held September 8, 2018, in Sturgis, S.D. at 11 a.m. in the Erskine Club Rooms of the First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis, following a private internment.
