Thomas Allen "Opie" Reeder, 72, husband of Carol Reeder (nee Carlson) passed away Saturday evening, March 19, 2022, at the Ft Meade VA Medical Center in Sturgis, South Dakota.

He was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 4, 1949, to the late Arthur and Pearl (Arnolde) Reeder.

Tom is survived by his wife, Carol; and stepdaughter, Stephanie Dahlberg; brother, John (Pat) Reeder; sister, Mary Ann Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur S. and Pearl L. (Arnolde) Reeder; brother, Arthur R. Reeder (Jean); sister, Roberta Williams.

Tom was an US Army veteran who served during the Viet Nam War in Korea. He worked as a carpenter most of his life and retired with his wife, Carol in Sturgis, South Dakota.

A memorial service will be held at Blessed Emmanuel Lutheran Church at 11:30 am, Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Military honors will be provided by the SD Army National Guard and the Spearfish Honor Guard.
