Thora Beryle (Imsland) Price was born on June 13,1927 to Martin & Malena Imsland near Edson, SD.  She joined two older sisters, Vally & Oasa, followed by brother Theodore (Ted) a couple of years later.  Thora attended Edson School and graduated from Faith High School in 1945.

On February 27, 1945, Thora married Walter Price in Broadus, MT.  They started their married life in a sheep wagon near Fox Ridge tending sheep that first year.  They then moved near Alkali and worked for Walt's brother Stanley.  They welcomed 2 sons to their family, Walter LeRoy (Roy) in 1946 and Alan in 1947.  After a few moves and job opportunities, their family set down roots near Red Owl.  Thora worked alongside Walt on the ranch where they raised a few chickens, pigs, sheep, and cattle.  After the boys started school, Thora also went back to school and started teaching.  She taught for 15 years at various rural schools and was a member of the MEA, SDEA, NEA and served on the local school board.

After retiring, Walt & Thora became snowbirds for a few years, traveling to Arizona where they enjoyed golfing and making new friends.  They never let grass grow under their feet and were always looking to move on to the next "house" project.  When they weren't moving or remodeling, Thora enjoyed oil painting & quilting.  Her family and many of her friends were gifted with at least one of her beautiful works of "heart".

Thora B. Price, 97, Passed away at her home on Saturday, January 11, 2025.

Grateful for sharing in her life are her loving husband of 79 years, Walt; grandchildren Launa (Shane) Grubl & Chad (Jenny) Price; great-grandchildren Teigen & Trey Grubl, Brayden, Brigg, & Brynlie Price; sister Oasa Murphy; brother Ted Imsland; sister-in-law Opal (Don) Grubl; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Thora was preceded in death by her parents, Martin & Malena Imsland, son Roy (2002), son & daughter-in-law Alan (2017) & Merla Dawn (2018), sister Vally, & infant brother Torjus.

The family will hold a celebration of life for Walt & Thora at the VFW in Sturgis on February 7, 2025 at 1 pm.
