Tom Henry DeYoe was born May 9, 1944, at Belle Fourche, SD, to Richard and Jane (Bunch) DeYoe. He attended school at a country school near Mona, WY, Martin, SD, and Belle Fourche, SD. After graduating high school, Tom worked for Junek Brothers in Spearfish, recapping tires. Tom married Sandra Fox in 1965. He was called to duty in 1966 and served in Germany until November of 1968. He was an honor graduate from the advanced training at Ft. Lee, Virginia, for the Engineer Supply and parts course. After completing his Army service, he returned to Junek Brothers for a short time. Tom and Sandra moved to Newell around 1970 and purchased a farm. Over the years, they sold the first farm and purchased other land, on their ranch they raised cattle, sheep, and hay.

Tom went into a parts store in 1979. He added in hardware at a later date. He operated that business until December 2006. During that time, he won awards, including Ag Business of the year, in 2003, and Small Business for the year in 2005. He was always willing to help his customers out by going in on weekends, nights, and holidays to help them out in times of need. However, when he was able to sell the business in 2006, he was glad to just be on the ranch. That was his first love. He always joked that it took his uptown business to pay for his ranch.

Tom Henry DeYoe, 78, of Newell, SD, died Friday, December 23, 2022, at Fort Meade VA Medical Hospital.

Grateful for have sharing his life is his wife of 57 years, Sandra DeYoe; his three children, Holly (James) Barrett, Tracey DeYoe, and Terry DeYoe. He often expressed how blessed he felt to have a wife he loved dearly and children that he was so proud of and loved spending time with.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis, SD.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis with a burial to follow at Pine Slope cemetery in Belle Fourche, SD.
