Obituary

Tony Ray Howie, 32, Rapid City, died Monday, April 12, 2010, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital following an accident.

Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2010, at the Central Meade County Community Center with Pastor Harold Delbridge officiating. Burial will follow at the White Owl Cemetery.

Tony was born March 24, 1978, at Rapid City to Mike and Linda (Keffeler) Howie. He grew up on the family ranch and attended school at Enning. He graduated from Wall High School where he participated in FFA and Rodeo. He worked at Wall Drug during the school year.

Tony graduated from Western Dakota Vo Tech with a degree in Diesel Mechanics. He worked his way through school at Menards and Jenner Equipment. After graduating, he was employed full time at Jenner Equipment for the past 13 years.

Tony enjoyed hunting and his friends. He worked security at the Thunderdome, Jack Daniels booth and Deadwood Mardi Gras. He also enjoyed his job in the pit crew for Eisenbraun Racing.

Survivors include his parents, Mike and Linda Howie, White Owl; sister, Tanna (Vince) Holzer, Denver, CO; paternal grandfather, Raymond (and the late Georgia) Howie, White Owl; maternal grandparents, Ralph and Betty Keffeler, Sturgis; uncles and aunts, Ron and Kerry Howie, White Owl, Andy and Tresa Howie, Newell, Donna Keffeler, Littleton, CO, Tammy Lorenz and fiancé, Scott Sieler, Brighton, CO, Troy Lorenz, Willow, CA, Shari (and the late Doug Keffeler) Sturgis, and Travis Keffeler, Sturgis; and numerous cousins. Also left behind is his faithful dog, Cinch.

He is now with his twin brother Trent Howie; grandmother, Georgia Howie; and uncle, Doug Keffeler, who preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to Western Dakota Vo-Tech Diesel Mechanics program or the Wall High School.
