Obituary

Trevour Joe Gritts, 27, Polson, MT, died unexpectedly on May 19, 2011 in Polson where he was attending Salish Kootenai College.

Visitation will be from noon until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 22 at the Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2011 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Spearfish with Pastor David Baer officiating. Burial to follow at the Whitewood Cemetery.

Trevour was born October 12, 1983, in Rapid City, SD, to Carol Ann (Lee) and John Clifford Gritts.

Trevour grew up in Spearfish and graduated from Spearfish High School in 2002. He lived every minute to the fullest. He enjoyed participating in all sports and was an avid sports fan, especially of the Oklahoma Sooners. He loved to laugh and spend time with his friends and family. Trevour always had a positive attitude. He was willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed help and never said no to his niece and cousins when they needed a "horseback" ride or one more trip down the sledding hill.

Survivors include his mother, Carol Gritts, Spearfish, SD; father, John Gritts, Denver, CO; brothers, Brian Randall Winner, Sioux Falls, SD; Jeromie John Gritts, Seattle, WA; Carleton Lee (Jess) Gritts, Polson, MT; sister, Kristen Jacks, Washington, DC; maternal grandmother, Mary Rucastle, Spearfish, SD; paternal grandmother, Billie Gritts, Hominy, OK; aunts, Barb Lee-Bachand, Sturgis, SD; uncles, Don (Donna) Lee, Rapid City, SD; Tom (Gail) Gritts, Woverhampton, England; Joe (Sharon) Gritts, Tulsa, OK; Bill Gritts, Joplin, MO; David Gritts, Hominy, OK; George (Judy) Gritts, Glendale, AZ; great aunt, Joanna Christian, Hominy, OK; niece, Abby Winner, Sioux Falls, SD; Trevour's special friend Samantha Ness, Polson, MT; and numerous other cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John Rucastle and Clifford Gritts; aunt Rose Lee and great uncle Chester Christian.

In memory of Trevour, a scholarship fund has been established at Salish Kootenai College, Pablo, MT.

May the memory of his tender, carefree spirit and his passion for life continue to guide his family and friends who are left to grieve his passing.
