Tsukiko Brown, 69, Box Elder, died Friday, January 14, 2011, at Golden Living Center, Meadowbrook, in Rapid City.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m.
A memorial service will be Friday, January 21, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel with Pastor Bill Meirose officiating. Inurnment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery.
Tsukiko was born September 23, 1941, in Fukuoka, Japan to Zentaro and Haru Takata. She married Fredrick Norman Brown on December 1, 1972. They moved to South Dakota on June 16, 1973. Tsukiko worked in beverage management at the American legion as her last job.
Tsukiko was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 315 and TREA. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, and playing video games. Tsukiko was a friend to many and loved by al who knew her. She loved to spend time with family and friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Traci (Cory) Nims, Clinton, UT; one son, George Brown and his fiancé, Sharon Long, Rapid City; three grandchildren, Tyler Nims, Chase Nims, and Geordan Brown; and two brothers and one sister, Toru and Noriyuki Takata and Tokuyo Momota, all of Japan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, and two brothers.
A memorial has been established.
