Veo Smith Jacob, 90, of Rapid City, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Monument Health Rapid City.

Veo "Vee" Smith was born March 31, 1933, to Chester and Winnie Smith in Alexandria, South Dakota. She grew up with her sister Kay and numerous cousins. She Graduated from Rapid City High School in 1951. She went on to be a paralegal, private investigator, notary, Sunday School teacher, church organist, mom, Nana, and Great Nana.

In 1979 she met the love of her life, Milo Corky Jacob. They married in 1980 and went on to establish Chantier Creek Resort in Fort Pierre, SD. They made many friends and a chosen extended family through their business. Between Vee and Corky, they had seven children, Veo (Val) Robichard, Larry Livingston, D'Ana Livingston, Dale Jacob, Mary Jacob, Rodney Jacob, and Danette Jacob. They had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and great great great grandchildren. It's safe to say that well over 200 children have called her Nana in the last 50 years! Family was always her priority, and she never met a child she didn't love.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Corky; her sister, Kay Phelps; daughters, Mary Jacob and D'Ana Livingston, and many other loved ones throughout the years.
