Vera Simons Denker passed into eternity August 17, 2015.

Vera was born January 8, 1922, at home to Garfield and May Simons near Enning, SD. Vera graduated from Sturgis High School in South Dakota and got her teaching certificate at Black Hills Teachers College. Vera taught at several one room schools before moving from Enning, SD, to Belle Fourche, SD.

Vera married George Denker in 1942. Together they raised one son and three daughters. They moved to Caldwell, ID, in 1967 and resided there until her death.

Survivors include one son, Gary (Arlene) Denker of Spearfish, SD; three daughters, Beverly Fowble of Caldwell, ID, Carol (Ron) Voorhees and Joyce (Kevin) Olaveson of Boise, ID; 13 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; and 2 step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; grandson, George Denker; two sisters; and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at Flahiffs on Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at 1:00 PM and at Kinkade Funeral Chapel in Sturgis on Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Bear Butte Cemetery in Sturgis.
